Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed all PhD requirements within the last five years.
  • Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and foreign citizens.
  • Eligible to receive existing postdoctoral funding (e.g., SSHRC PDF) which can be supplemented to the Lupina salary level.
  • Applicants must not currently hold a tenure-track position or be on leave from such a position.
  • The applicant’s PhD should be in a relevant field, such as social sciences, public health, technology, or related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven excellence in research, leadership, and communication.
  • Research project that clearly aligns with the fellowship’s goals, particularly in health, society, and technology.
  • Ability to engage in interdisciplinary research and contribute to collaborative initiatives across various fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to original research on social determinants of health and its intersection with technology.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research teams, collaborating across multiple departments within the Faculty of Arts.
  • Develop and implement knowledge translation strategies, including engaging with non-academic communities and policy makers to apply research findings in real-world settings.
  • Contribute to the broader academic community through publications, presentations, and outreach activities.
