About the Position

The position explores submerged palaeolandscapes and their response to postglacial sea level rise and climate change. Research Area

Marine seismic analysis of palaeolandscapes
Postglacial sea-level rise impact
Climate change and low-topography environments
Seismo-acoustic data interpretation
Geological survey using sediment cores
Geo-archaeological and offshore infrastructure relevance
Development of the Drowned Palaeolandscape Atlas
Numerical modeling & machine learning (optional)

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree (or at least 1 year of Master’s) in geology, geophysics, or related field
Good command of English
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work in international teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with seismic/acoustic data and sediment cores
Familiarity with seismic processing and integration tools
Openness to interdisciplinary research
Prior fieldwork or international research collaboration

Key Responsibilities

Conduct marine geophysical analysis
Participate in offshore fieldwork
Support the RisingSea research group
Contribute to Drowned Palaeolandscape Atlas
Collaborate with international partners
Optional research visit to partnering institutions in UK, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium
