Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- You must be a citizen of one of the following countries: France (EU), India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Thailand, or Vietnam.
- You must have applied for a taught postgraduate Master’s course (MLitt, MRes, MSc) at the University of St Andrews for the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Applicants must meet the English language requirement for their chosen course or begin a pre-sessional English course by 30 June 2025.
- You should be academically excellent with an outstanding academic record, demonstrating leadership potential and a wide range of extracurricular interests.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates with previous international exposure, work experience, or strong extra-curricular engagement will be preferred.
- The selection committee values applicants with strong references, both academic and personal.
Not Eligible:
- Non-Master’s postgraduate programs (e.g., Graduate Diplomas) and online or distance learning programs are not eligible.
- Students who are not enrolled in full-time postgraduate taught Master’s courses (MLitt, MRes, MSc) are not eligible.
Fellowship/Job Benefits
- £10,000 Award: Toward tuition fees for the full-time postgraduate Master’s course.
- Visa Sponsorship: For international students.
- Health Insurance: Coverage for the duration of the study.
- Ambassadorial Role: Successful applicants will engage with the British Council and the University’s Student Ambassadors Scheme, which may include outreach activities and assisting with university events.

- Submit the completed scholarship application form along with one academic and one personal reference.
