Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in History or a closely related discipline
- Teaching experience at undergraduate level in African history
- Ability to teach innovatively and flexibly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising undergraduate research projects and dissertations
- Research interest in colonial and post-colonial Africa
- Applications from BAME candidates are especially encouraged
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and teach core modules including Colonial Africa, Interpreting Conflict in Post-Colonial Africa, and War and Peace in Africa since 1990
- Deliver lectures and seminars across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules
- Supervise Level 5 research projects and Level 6 dissertations
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental activities
- Support the university’s vision as an inclusive civic institution
