About Position/Job

IIT Gandhinagar invites applications for Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions in Computer Science and Engineering. The project focuses on fine-grained air quality exposure modeling and forecasting using machine learning, sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES). This role contributes to developing scalable spatio-temporal machine learning models for accurate air quality inference.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • JRF: Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Atmospheric Science or related fields
  • Must qualify through NET/GATE or national level selection processes recognized by Central Govt. bodies
  • SRF: JRF qualification + minimum 2 years of research experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in machine learning and data analysis
  • Proficiency in Python, Anaconda, Jupyter notebooks, Git/Github
  • Experience implementing ML projects and coding skills
  • Prior research publication experience
  • Knowledge of air quality domain is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement machine learning models for air quality forecasting
  • Process and analyze large-scale spatio-temporal data
  • Write research articles and present findings
  • Collaborate with project team and contribute to overall project goals
