The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Greenwich is inviting applications for a Lecturer in History (fixed term) to provide shared parental leave cover from September 2025 to April 2026. Based at the historic Old Royal Naval College campus, this role focuses on teaching and leading modules in global history, the Ottoman Empire, and the modern Middle East. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in history or a related field
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality teaching
- Strong communication and organisational skills

- Expertise in both global and Middle Eastern history
- Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and research
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and teach history modules during the 2025–26 academic year
- Deliver lectures and seminars in global history and Middle Eastern studies
- Provide academic guidance, feedback, and support to students
- Contribute to the wider teaching and research activities of the school
