Fully Funded PhD in Environmental Science at CNRS – Pierre Simon Laplace Institute (IPSL), France

About the Program

The CNRS – Pierre Simon Laplace Institute (IPSL) is offering a fully funded PhD position in Environmental Science as part of the inteGREEN project (Paris RÉUSS-I, ANR France 2030). Based at the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD), École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, this doctoral project will explore the cooling potential of urban greening through advanced remote sensing, atmospheric boundary layer analysis, and urban climate studies. The research will examine how vegetation influences urban microclimates, human health, and ecosystem resilience under climate change. Working in close collaboration with an interdisciplinary network of scientists, the candidate will contribute to cutting-edge studies while benefiting from the resources of IPSL, which unites nine laboratories and 1,400 researchers. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers passionate about sustainability, climate dynamics, and the future of urban environments.
