About the Fellowship
The ISAW Visiting Research Scholar Program at New York University offers a unique opportunity for scholars to advance research on the interconnected cultures and civilizations of the ancient world. This fellowship fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across fields such as archaeology, history, anthropology, art history, economics, and digital humanities. Scholars benefit from access to ISAW’s specialised library, NYU’s extensive resources, and nearby institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Columbia University.
The program encourages innovative projects spanning the Mediterranean, Central Asia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, supporting both early-career and established researchers. Participants engage in intellectual exchange, contribute to seminars, mentor graduate students, and present their work publicly, strengthening global understanding of ancient societies and their enduring legacies.
