About the Fellowship
The Fung Global Fellows Program at Princeton University offers early-career scholars a unique opportunity to explore “The Politics of the Archive” through a year-long visiting research fellowship. Fellows will investigate the creation, maintenance, and contested legacies of libraries, museums, and archives worldwide, addressing questions of cultural restitution, curatorial re-contextualisation, and digital knowledge asymmetries.
This interdisciplinary fellowship encourages collaboration across the humanities and social sciences, allowing scholars to engage with Princeton’s vibrant academic community. Participants will contribute to broader global conversations on memory, heritage, and the politics of knowledge, while benefiting from institutional support and intellectual exchange that can advance both individual research and collective scholarly insight. The program supports innovative projects that examine archives as instruments of history, resistance, and social justice.

Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. awarded after 1 September 2016
- Employed outside the United States in a faculty or professional research appointment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong publication record
- Experience in interdisciplinary research
- Ability to actively contribute to academic discussion and collaboration at Princeton
Not Eligible:
- Current Ph.D. students
- Postdoctoral researchers without a faculty/professional appointment
