About Position/Job

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee invites applications for a Research Associate position in Visual Imaging and Urban Design. This role is part of the Visual Imaging Environment for Walkable Streets (VIEWS) sub-project under the AMRUT Centre of Urban Planning for Capacity Building (AUPC). Supervised by Prof. Uttam Kumar Roy with mentorship from Prof. Saptarshi Kolay, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge urban design research funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

The project aims to enhance walkability through innovative visual communication, industrial design, and web-based solutions. Selected candidates will engage in designing street furniture, signage, and centre infographics, as well as conduct fieldwork in Dehradun for visual assessments and wayfinding studies. The position is initially for six months, with a potential extension based on performance, providing hands-on experience in interdisciplinary urban planning, design research, and applied visual studies.
