About the Programme

The University of Basel, Switzerland, invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in Global Change Ecology within the ERC project “Global status, trends, drivers and impacts of non-native plant species in mountain ecosystems (GloNoMo)”. Supervised by Prof. Sabine Rumpf, this exciting position is based in the Department of Environmental Sciences and collaborates with GLORIA (Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Environments) and MIREN (Mountain Invasion Research Network). The project investigates the spread and ecological effects of non-native plant species in mountain ecosystems through fieldwork in the Swiss Alps, laboratory experiments, and data-driven ecological analyses. This PhD offers an opportunity to contribute to critical research addressing the biodiversity crisis within a highly collaborative and international academic environment.
