The University of Arizona is inviting applications for the Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Applied Archaeology position within its School of Anthropology, located in Tucson, United States. This is a full-time, 9-month, Career Track (non-tenure eligible) faculty position focused on applied archaeology and cultural resource management. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Anthropology or a closely related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Anthropology or a related field with five or more years of professional experience in applied archaeology
- Demonstrated field experience in North American archaeology
- Strong evidence of graduate-level teaching excellence
- Experience in new course development and applied learning approaches
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach four master’s level courses related to applied archaeology.
- Develop and teach one master level capstone course
- Supervise graduate internships in applied archaeology
- Serve as academic advisor for Master of Anthropology students (Applied Archaeology emphasis)
- Act as the primary coordinator between internship partners and the academic programme
- Contribute to departmental service, outreach, and collaborative initiatives, including grants and partnerships
