About Position/Job
Université Savoie Mont Blanc invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in Environmental Science, Geography, and Geology titled “Reconstructing the Environmental, Climatic, and Human History of the Tignes Lake Catchment Area” at the EDYTEM Laboratory. This fully-funded 18-month postdoctoral position focuses on geomorphological mapping, dendrochronology, glacial dynamics, and Holocene environmental reconstruction in the Tignes region of France. The project will be supervised by Charline Giguet-Covex and aligns with the laboratory’s research theme on Glacial and Environmental Dynamics. The research combines field-based sampling, cosmogenic nuclide dating, radiocarbon analysis, GIS mapping, and statistical data interpretation to understand the interplay between climate change, human activities, and landscape evolution. The project offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, international networking, advanced analytical training, and public engagement through educational maps and outreach activities.
