About Position / Job
The University of Algarve, Portugal, is offering a Scientific Research Fellowship (BIPD 081/2025) in Geosciences, under the COASTHazar Project focusing on Coastal Hazards, Climate Change Impacts, and Adaptation. This postdoctoral grant provides an exciting opportunity for researchers with a PhD in Marine, Earth, or Environmental Sciences and experience in marine/coastal systems.
The successful candidate will work at the IDL pole (Instituto D. Luís) in Faro, supervised by Professors Joaquim Luís and Óscar Ferreira. The project involves integration of topo-bathymetric surveys, wave data analysis, nearshore morphodynamic modelling (XBeach & SWaN), and coastal sediment dynamics. This 12-month fellowship offers a monthly allowance of €1851, renewable according to the University of Algarve Research Grant Regulations, and provides international exposure and advanced research experience in coastal geosciences.
