About Position/Job
Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a passionate and collaborative academic for the role of Lecturer in Biological Anthropology, specialising in primatology, primate behaviour, conservation, human nutrition, disease and environmental anthropology. This exciting position sits within the School of Archaeology and Anthropology in Canberra, Australia, and offers a fixed-term part-time appointment (0.6 FTE) of up to three years with generous remuneration including superannuation. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching in existing courses, help develop interdisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervise honours and postgraduate students, and contribute to the vibrant academic life of one of the world’s leading anthropology departments. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Biological Anthropology or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated teaching ability in biological anthropology and primatology
- Capacity to contribute to interdisciplinary programmes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in course design and delivery
- Track record of supervision at honours/postgraduate level
- Engagement in departmental service and governance
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching in biological anthropology and primatology
- Co-teach first-year courses and help develop new interdisciplinary offerings
- Supervise honours, master’s, and PhD students
- Engage in school and college seminars, meetings and service activities
