About Position/Job
The University of Warsaw is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (R2) in the Department of Medieval History, Faculty of History. This full-time role is part of the NCN Sonata Bis research project “Recognising Saints in the High Middle Ages: Local and Papal Formalisation of Cults Reconsidered.” The project investigates how sainthood was recognised and formalised in Latin Europe between the late 10th and late 13th centuries, examining both local cult approvals and papal canonisations. A key outcome will be the creation of a major digital resource, the Sainthood Recognition Catalogue, documenting all known cases of medieval sainthood recognition. The position offers an outstanding opportunity to work on medieval religious history, Latin source analysis, and digital humanities methods within an international research environment in Warsaw, Poland.
