Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Biomolecular Archaeology at University College London, United Kingdom – Apply by 22 February 2026

About Position/Job

University College London (UCL) is offering a Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Biomolecular Archaeology within the globally recognised UCL Institute of Archaeology. This role is part of the AHRC-funded PELLIS project: Investigating the manufacture, trade, and economy of Roman leather through multi-analytical approaches, focusing on the Roman Empire and its economic ecology. Working under the supervision of Professor Rhiannon Stevens, the postholder will apply biomolecular science, ZooMS, and stable isotope analysis to archaeological leather to explore production systems, trade, and economic networks. The project combines archaeological science, Roman archaeology, and biochemical laboratory methods, aligning with UCL’s strengths in interdisciplinary research and scientific approaches to the past. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact research using cutting-edge laboratory techniques and international collaboration.
