Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Archaeology, Environmental Science, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in archaeological laboratory work
  • Strong organisational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising laboratory activities and staff
  • Familiarity with palaeoenvironmental sample processing
  • Knowledge of museum and heritage sector liaison

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of the archaeological laboratories
  • Supervise sample processing, artefact analysis, and archive preparation
  • Maintain laboratory resources and equipment
  • Collaborate with Archaeological Services and the wider department
  • Liaise with museums, councils, and external partners
  • Support teaching, student training, and departmental research projects
