About the Position
The Faculty of Archaeology at the University of Warsaw is inviting applications for the role of Assistant (R1) in the group of research and teaching staff, with a focus on classical archaeology and the reception of antiquity. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in archaeology (with thesis on classical archaeology or antiquity reception)
- Fluency in English and advanced proficiency in another foreign language (preferably Italian)
- Experience in fieldwork at Mediterranean archaeological sites
- Active participation in academic life and scientific communication
- Knowledge of Polish sufficient for course delivery
- Ongoing or planned PhD in classical archaeology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of museology
- Participation in international conferences and research projects
- Interest in outreach and science communication
- Experience in teaching or academic support roles
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and publish results in archaeology
- Deliver up to 210 teaching hours annually, including field courses
- Submit grant proposals to external agencies (e.g. NCN, MEN)
- Engage in organisational activities of the Faculty
- Support student and doctoral engagement in research and teaching
- Actively contribute to grant fundraising and science promotion
