About the Position
The University of East Sarajevo is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor in the narrow scientific field of Archaeology (Prehistoric, Ancient, Medieval). Based at the Faculty of Philosophy Pale, this full-time, permanent role is an opportunity for established researchers to contribute to advancing archaeological scholarship in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The position focuses on teaching and research across prehistoric, ancient, and medieval archaeology, with scope to develop innovative approaches and methodologies in the field. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Archaeology or closely related discipline
- Established researcher profile (R3 level)
- Open only to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina

- Strong publication record in archaeology
- Teaching experience at higher education level
- Engagement with regional or international research networks
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching in Archaeology
- Conduct original research in prehistoric, ancient, and medieval archaeology
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to academic conferences
- Supervise students and support academic development
- Collaborate with colleagues in related fields within the Faculty
