About the Position

The University of Warsaw invites applications for a funded Assistant Professor position in Archaeology within the Faculty of Archaeology, Warsaw, Poland. This R2 research and teaching role focuses on Palaeolithic and Mesolithic archaeology, environmental archaeology, and molecular biomarker analysis. It supports advanced international research in Stone Age archaeology and interdisciplinary scientific approaches.

Moreover, the successful candidate will actively engage in independent research and collaborative projects. The role involves working within the Chair of Stone Age Archaeology, contributing to publications, and applying innovative molecular and environmental methods. Applicants must hold a PhD in Archaeology and demonstrate strong expertise in Palaeolithic and Mesolithic studies. In addition, candidates should show teaching experience and the ability to deliver 210 teaching hours annually in both Polish and English academic environments.

This funded full-time position begins on 1 October 2026 for 12 months, offering a competitive salary of PLN 7,980 gross per month plus additional benefits.
