About the Position

The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) invites applications for a full-time, temporary Assistant Professor position in the Faculty of Humanities. This research-and-teaching role is suited for an established researcher (R3) with a PhD in History and a strong research focus on the modern history of the Balkan countries, including interests in the Holocaust and its representation. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in History
  • Native command of English
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience at the university level in English
  • Proven publication record fulfilling one of the following:
    • One journal article (minimum 140-point ranking)
    • Two journal articles (each minimum 100-point ranking)
    • Scholarly monograph published by a Level II classified publisher
  • Specialisation in modern Balkan history

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated research interest in Holocaust studies
  • Documented experience in public science communication via international media
  • International academic collaboration experience
  • Active participation in international conferences
  • Leadership in national or international academic projects
  • Positive record from the latest periodic academic evaluation (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced research in Balkan history and related fields
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English
  • Supervise student research and dissertations
  • Lead or participate in academic research projects
  • Engage in academic outreach and knowledge dissemination
