About the Position

The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) invites applications for a full-time, temporary Assistant Professor position in the Faculty of Humanities. This research-and-teaching role is suited for an established researcher (R3) with a PhD in History and a strong research focus on the modern history of the Balkan countries, including interests in the Holocaust and its representation. The selected candidate will be expected to teach and publish in English, with a demonstrated ability to engage in international academic collaboration. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in History
Native command of English
At least 5 years of teaching experience at the university level in English
Proven publication record fulfilling one of the following:
- One journal article (minimum 140-point ranking)
- Two journal articles (each minimum 100-point ranking)
- Scholarly monograph published by a Level II classified publisher
Specialisation in modern Balkan history

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated research interest in Holocaust studies
Documented experience in public science communication via international media
International academic collaboration experience
Active participation in international conferences
Leadership in national or international academic projects
Positive record from the latest periodic academic evaluation (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities

Conduct advanced research in Balkan history and related fields
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English
Supervise student research and dissertations
Lead or participate in academic research projects
Engage in academic outreach and knowledge dissemination
