Eligibility/Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- A doctoral or post-doctoral degree in the humanities, particularly ethnology, cultural and religious sciences, cultural anthropology or social anthropology, or a foreign equivalent. Candidates with related qualifications may also be considered if they have professional experience in ethnology, cultural anthropology or social anthropology.
- Teaching experience in a higher education institution and significant experience conducting ethnographic field research.
- International scientific experience demonstrated through participation in scientific conferences, research internships or international research consortia. Research experience beyond the Polish context is an important advantage but is not essential.
- A strong record of scientific achievement, including publications in internationally recognised journals or publishing houses, and experience leading research grants or serving as a principal investigator.
- Excellent Polish and English language skills sufficient to teach in both languages.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor will:
- Conduct anthropological scientific research of an ethnographic nature.
- Disseminate research findings through papers, lectures and academic publications.
- Publish research in recognised journals and academic publishing houses, including international publications.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals to attract external funding for research activities.
- Undertake teaching responsibilities within the Institute.
- Carry out organisational duties assigned by the Director of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology.
