About Position/Job
Universität Zürich is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor in Medieval and Post-Medieval Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. This tenure-track position, starting on 1 August 2027, comprises two initial three-year appointments, with the potential for a tenured role after successful evaluation. The position, supervised by Prof. Dr. Corinna Reinhardt, focuses on medieval archaeology, with experience in post-medieval archaeology considered desirable. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Archaeology or related field at the time of application

- Experience in architectural and monument studies
- Ability to acquire third-party funding
- Collaboration experience in interdisciplinary projects
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality research in medieval and post-medieval archaeology
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering all thematic and methodological aspects of the discipline
- Lead field research projects and integrate digital methods in research and teaching
