Arkansas Tech University (ATU) is seeking an Assistant Professor of Anthropology for a tenure-track position starting in August 2025. This role is ideal for a scholar with expertise in archaeology, particularly in the southeastern United States, with a focus on pre-colonial and Early American archaeology. The successful candidate will contribute to managing the newly established Center for Heritage and Culture collections, teach a variety of undergraduate courses, and oversee the Archaeology Field School. This position provides an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the Anthropology & Geography degree program and actively engage with students and the community through archaeological events.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Anthropology or ABD with expected completion by December 2025
- College teaching experience

- Expertise in archaeology focusing on the southeastern US
- Experience in developing field schools or internships
- Evidence of peer-reviewed, original scholarship
Key Responsibilities
- Teach courses including Introduction to Anthropology, Southeastern Archaeology, and upper-division courses
- Develop additional courses aligned with your expertise
- Advise and mentor students
- Manage the Center for Heritage and Culture collections
- Oversee the Archaeology Field School
- Participate in state and local archaeology events
- Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession
