About Position/Job
The University of Queensland (UQ) invites applications for a part-time Associate Lecturer in Anthropology based at the St Lucia campus, Brisbane. This fixed-term (40% FTE) appointment runs from February to June 2026 and focuses on teaching ANTH2250 Medical Anthropology in Semester 1. Reporting to Associate Professor Jenny Munro, the role emphasises high-quality, student-centred teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and active engagement in the School of Social Science’s academic community. Ideal candidates will have an emerging teaching profile, strong disciplinary knowledge in Anthropology, and experience with innovative teaching methods, including online delivery. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to one of Australia’s leading social science schools while working with the UQ Anthropology Museum and other research centres.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion or near-completion of a PhD in Anthropology
- Demonstrated disciplinary knowledge and teaching ability at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with online learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard)
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with curriculum development and student-centred teaching
- Familiarity with active and flexible learning approaches
- Participation in teaching teams and academic committees
Key Responsibilities
- Teach ANTH2250 Medical Anthropology in Semester 1, 2026
- Develop course content, assess students, and provide academic guidance
