Stockholm University is inviting applications for a permanent, full-time Associate Professor in Zoology with a focus on Ecology and Evolution at the Department of Zoology, located in Stockholm, Sweden. The successful candidate will undertake research, teaching, and student supervision, and contribute to courses in ecology, faunistics, and/or physiology. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

PhD or equivalent research expertise in Zoology, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, or a related biological science
Demonstrated research excellence within the subject area
Proven teaching ability and experience in higher education
Strong ability to collaborate and contribute to academic service

Preferred Qualifications:

Training in teaching and learning in higher education (minimum 15 ECTS or equivalent)
Ability to teach in ecology, faunistics, and/or physiology
Willingness to acquire Swedish language proficiency for teaching and administration within a few years
Experience supervising undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students

Key Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative research in zoology, ecology, and evolution
Teach and develop courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Supervise Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students
Contribute to departmental administration and academic leadership
