About the Fellowship
The Cambridge Visiting Fellowships for Scholars from the Global South at the Centre for Research in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CRASSH), University of Cambridge, provide an exceptional opportunity for scholars to engage in interdisciplinary research and international collaboration. The 2027 fellowship theme, “Enslavement: Histories, Legacies and Afterlives”, invites research exploring the social, cultural, environmental, and historical impacts of enslavement and coerced labour.
Fellows will benefit from access to Cambridge’s extensive collections and resources, participate in collaborative events, and contribute to public engagement activities through the Legacies of Enslavement Initiative. This fellowship encourages innovative research across disciplines such as anthropology, archaeology, art history, digital humanities, environmental studies, geography, history, philosophy, medical humanities, museum studies, science and technology studies, and sociology, while fostering long-term international academic connections.
