About Position/Job
The CNRS is offering a prestigious Junior Professor Chair in Biomolecular Archaeology of Society-Environment Interactions, based in Paris in partnership with the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN). This role aims to advance cutting-edge research in bioarchaeology, with an emphasis on paleoproteomics, proteomics, and socio-ecological interactions from the Late Pleistocene to the industrial era. The selected candidate will work within the UMR7209 BioArch Joint Research Unit and contribute significantly to national and international collaborations. With a focus on interdisciplinary methodologies, the position bridges archaeological science and environmental studies to understand human impact on biodiversity across time.
This opportunity is part of CNRS’s broader strategy to strengthen France’s research leadership in biomolecular archaeology and societal-environmental dynamics. Applicants are expected to lead innovative research, secure international grants, and actively engage in science communication and open science initiatives. A gross annual salary of up to €57,800 and €200,000 in research funding will be provided.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

- Experience in project development and grant writing
- Engagement in international scientific networks
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pioneering research in biomolecular archaeology
