About the Position
The University of Oxford – Department for Continuing Education (Oxford Lifelong Learning) is seeking a part-time Departmental Tutor in Archaeology to join its dynamic teaching team. This permanent role (0.6 FTE) involves teaching across a diverse portfolio of courses, including undergraduate certificates and diplomas, short online courses, lecture series, day and weekend events, and summer schools. The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, assessment and marking, and administrative tasks, while collaborating with colleagues to maintain and enhance high academic standards. Ideal candidates will have strong academic qualifications, experience in university-level teaching and research, and expertise in material culture studies, Iron Age, Romano-British, or Medieval Archaeology.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong academic qualifications in Archaeology or related disciplines
- Experience teaching and researching at university level
- Knowledge of Archaeology pedagogy and course administration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in material culture studies, Iron Age, Romano-British, or Medieval Archaeology
- Experience with undergraduate teaching and flexible learning environments
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in education
Key Responsibilities
- Teach across the Department’s Archaeology portfolio, including certificates, diplomas, and short courses
- Contribute to curriculum development and programme improvements
- Undertake assessment, marking, and administrative duties
