About the Program
The Central European University (CEU) Department of Historical Studies in Vienna, Austria, invites applications for fully-funded MA in Historical Studies for the 2026–27 academic year. This two-year programme offers students the opportunity to explore the history of Central and Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean World through interdisciplinary methods, including historiography, archival research, and fieldwork. Students can choose between the Late Antique and Medieval Track or the broader History Track, allowing them to develop specialised knowledge and language skills relevant to their thesis. The programme encourages international collaboration and participation in field trips across Central Europe, preparing graduates for careers in heritage, museums, or doctoral studies at leading universities. Financial support includes tuition waivers and monthly stipends, with additional scholarships for outstanding candidates.
