About the Position
The University of Tübingen invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in Medieval Archaeology at the Faculty of Humanities, Institute of Prehistory, Early History and Archaeology of the Middle Ages, located in Tübingen, Germany. This exciting academic opportunity focuses on floodplain reclamation, swamp ore processing, and archaeometallurgy, contributing to the international DFG priority programme “On the Way to the Fluvial Anthroposphere”.
Moreover, the successful candidate will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary DFG-funded research project, undertaking independent research using excavation analysis, terrain surveys, and material culture studies. In addition, access to advanced research facilities and expert supervision ensures a productive environment for high-impact publications and doctoral training.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Medieval Archaeology, Scientific Archaeology, or Prehistory and Early History, and demonstrate strong experience in archaeological analysis.
