Fully Funded PhD in Petrology at Stockholm University – Apply by 31 January 2026

About the Program

Stockholm University invites applications for a fully funded PhD in Petrology titled “Rare Earth Element Behaviour During Multiphase Deformation” at the Department of Geological Sciences, Faculty of Science. This doctoral position focuses on understanding rare earth element (REE) mobility in rocks and veins during multiphase deformation, addressing key processes in petrology and geochemistry. The project will be supervised by Associate Professor Paola Manzotti and aligns closely with the department’s strong research profile in geochemistry, marine geology, geophysics, and classical geology. The research duration is four years and is based in Stockholm, Sweden, with an anticipated start date in 2026. The project offers advanced microanalytical training, thermodynamic modelling, and opportunities for international academic collaboration, making it an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers seeking high-impact doctoral research in Earth Sciences.
