About the Position

University of Tübingen invites applications for a funded Ancient DNA Technician position in Human Origins research at the Institute for Archaeological Sciences, within the Ancient Biomolecule Central Laboratory. This exciting academic opportunity focuses on palaeogenetics, human evolution, and archaeological sciences, contributing to international research initiatives in prehistoric population studies, microbial evolution, and ecosystem changes.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the Human Origins Cluster of Excellence, undertaking independent research using high-throughput sequencing, DNA hybridisation techniques, and field-based sampling approaches. Applicants must hold completed training as a biological technical assistant or an equivalent degree (Master’s preferred) and demonstrate strong experience with molecular biology protocols, DNA sample preparation, and NGS technologies.
