About Position/Job
Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) is offering a Research Technician position in Geomorphology and Project Management for the academic year 2025–2026, funded under the European Union / Next Generation EU framework. This full-time role is part of the research project titled “Terrestrial monitoring and artificial intelligence: indicators and strategies against environmental desertification in Mediterranean environments”, led by Dr Julián García Comendador. Based in Palma, Spain, the position focuses on supporting research into geomorphological and hydrological processes through fieldwork, laboratory work, and administrative project management tasks. The role offers hands-on experience in Mediterranean environmental research, integrating physical geography, environmental monitoring, and applied research management. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of physical geography, hydrology, and geomorphological processes
- Proficiency in office software and administrative platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting fieldwork and environmental sampling
- Familiarity with laboratory-based environmental analysis
- Ability to interpret and apply regulations related to research grants and public procurement
- Knowledge of Catalan and Spanish
