About Position/Job
The John W. Baldwin Postdoctoral Fellowship at the UCLA CMRS Center for Early Global Studies offers a unique opportunity for a recent Ph.D. graduate to advance research in European medieval studies within a global and comparative context. The two-year fellowship, beginning July 2026, invites scholars whose work spans the 3rd to the early 17th century and who engage in cross-disciplinary methodologies reflecting Europe’s interaction with the wider world. Fellows will join UCLA’s vibrant academic community, collaborate with faculty and other postdoctoral scholars, participate in CMRS events, and organise a scholarly workshop or symposium in the second year. This fellowship, named in honour of historian John W.
