About the Position
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the research area of Novel Biomaterials and Stem Cells Based Skin Tissue Regeneration. This project, led by Dr Jyotsnendu Giri at the eNARM Laboratory, focuses on developing next-generation biomaterial and tissue engineering solutions for acute burn and chronic wound healing. The research integrates materials science, nanotechnology, and biology in collaboration with a Hyderabad-based hospital, offering a highly interdisciplinary environment. This position provides an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge biomedical research and may lead to PhD enrolment based on performance.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- M.Tech., M.S., or M.Sc. in Pharmacy, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or Biochemistry with First Division or equivalent.
- For science graduates, GATE/NET qualification is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of relevant research experience in biomaterials processing, polymer synthesis, or tissue engineering.
- Familiarity with biopolymer chemistry, organic synthesis, in vivo animal models, and cell/tissue culture techniques.
- Experience in wound healing projects preferred.
- Motivation for interdisciplinary research and a strong interest in pursuing a PhD.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication and modification of polymer-based biomaterial scaffolds.
- Conducting experiments on wound healing models using small animals.
- Performing molecular biology and tissue engineering techniques.
- Collaborating with clinical partners for translational research.
- Preparing reports and manuscripts for publication.
