About the Position
Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the project titled “Fair Federated Learning Framework in the Presence of Heterogeneous, Strategic, and Malicious Clients.” This exciting opportunity focuses on cutting-edge research in federated learning, machine learning fairness, and security. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Postgraduate Degree in Professional Course selected through national-level competitive exams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Qualified through CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship), GATE, or equivalent national eligibility tests
- Strong background in machine learning and data-driven research
- Experience in federated or distributed learning is desirable
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on federated learning frameworks considering fairness and adversarial conditions
- Develop algorithms to manage heterogeneous and malicious client behaviour
- Collaborate with the project team to publish high-quality research outcomes
- Prepare reports and present findings at conferences and seminars
- Assist in related departmental research activities
