Junior Researcher Position in Ecological Modelling at CNRS, France – Apply by 8 October 2025

About the Position

The CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) is offering a 6-month junior researcher position in ecological modelling at the Laboratoire d’Ecogéochimie des Environnements Benthiques (LECOB), based in Banyuls-sur-Mer. Supervised by Dr. Katell Guizien and Dr. Lorenzo Bramanti, the role focuses on ecological niche and species distribution modelling of five gorgonian species in the NW Mediterranean Sea. Using the BIOMOD2 suite, the researcher will test the robustness of explanatory variables, expand modelling to deeper regions, and prepare a scientific publication. This project aligns with LECOB’s mission to advance marine benthic ecology and provide scientific insights for marine spatial planning, integrating biology, geosciences, and advanced statistical methods.
