About Position/Job

Durham University is inviting applications for the role of Learning and Teaching Administrator within the Faculty of Social Sciences. This permanent, full-time role provides an exciting opportunity to support teaching, learning, and assessment processes across eight diverse departments, including Anthropology, Archaeology, Education, Geography, Government and International Affairs, Law, Sociology, and Sport and Exercise Sciences. The position will initially involve flexible deployment to meet departmental priorities and, in the medium term, will focus on the School of Government and International Affairs. You will manage student engagement, timetabling, assessment administration, and respond to student queries, ensuring a high-quality learning experience. This role is ideal for candidates who are organised, proactive, and enjoy working in a collaborative academic environment. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics
  • Experience in busy office/admin environments delivering frontline services
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Experience with digital learning systems (e.g., Banner, Learn Ultra)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
