Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in History or a closely related discipline
Teaching experience at undergraduate level in African history
Ability to teach innovatively and flexibly

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supervising undergraduate research projects and dissertations
Research interest in colonial and post-colonial Africa
Applications from BAME candidates are especially encouraged

Key Responsibilities

Lead and teach core modules including Colonial Africa, Interpreting Conflict in Post-Colonial Africa, and War and Peace in Africa since 1990
Deliver lectures and seminars across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules
Supervise Level 5 research projects and Level 6 dissertations
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental activities
Support the university’s vision as an inclusive civic institution
