Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field (must be in hand by August 1, 2026)

  • Ability to teach courses in archaeology, world prehistory, and biological anthropology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and delivering upper-division courses
  • Teaching portfolio with philosophy statement, syllabi, and course evaluations
  • Record of interdisciplinary engagement in anthropology

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a 4:4 course load in undergraduate archaeology and anthropology
  • Develop and deliver upper-division courses in the candidate’s area of expertise
  • Participate in occasional graduate-level teaching
  • Maintain a professional teaching portfolio
  • Engage with departmental and institutional teaching initiatives
