About Position/Job

Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Archaeology in the Department of Anthropology, based in Dallas, Texas, USA. This one-year, teaching-focused appointment begins 1 August 2026 and provides an opportunity for faculty with a track record of excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching.

The role includes teaching introductory courses in archaeology, world prehistory, and biological anthropology, as well as upper-division regional or topical courses. The position carries a 4:4 teaching load with no research or service obligations, though competitive internal research and conference funds are available.
