About the Position
The University of Washington, Seattle, invites applications for a Lecturer Part-Time Temporary position in Anthropology – Archaeology. This full-time, non-tenure-track appointment will cover Winter and Spring Quarters (16 December 2025 – 15 June 2026) as a leave replacement. The successful candidate will teach a combination of courses including ARCHY 410 (Archaeological Theory), ARCHY 369 (Indigenous Archaeology), a regional archaeology course, and an additional class in consultation with faculty. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Anthropology or related field by 16 December 2025
- Demonstrated effective teaching experience in archaeology or related subjects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching multiple undergraduate archaeology courses
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with archaeological fieldwork methods and theory
Key Responsibilities
- Teach two courses in Winter Quarter and two courses in Spring Quarter in person
- Cover classes including ARCHY 410, ARCHY 369, one regional archaeology course, and one additional course in consultation with faculty
- Prepare course materials, assignments, and assessments
- Engage with students and departmental teaching initiatives
- Contribute to the department’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
