About Position/Job
The Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA) at the University of Edinburgh invites applications for a Lecturer in Architectural History. This part-time, fixed-term post contributes to the dynamic teaching and research environment of ESALA, particularly focusing on Early Modern architecture and urbanism (1400–1800) in a global context. The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping the MA (Hons) in Architectural History and Heritage and other related programmes. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Architectural History, History of Art, History, or a related discipline
- Teaching experience in early modern architectural and urban history
- Evidence of research trajectory (e.g., publications, ongoing projects)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- International perspective on early modern architecture
- Strong commitment to inclusive and research-led teaching
