The University of Southampton, a globally ranked research-intensive institution, invites applications for a full-time, permanent Lecturer (A) position in Archaeology with specialization in Palaeolithic Archaeology and/or Palaeoanthropology. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in Archaeology or a related discipline
- Expertise in Palaeolithic Archaeology and/or Palaeoanthropology
- Developing research profile with peer-reviewed publications
- Experience in undergraduate/postgraduate teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fellowship of the UK HEA or equivalent teaching qualification
- Archaeological fieldwork experience
- Contribution to grant applications
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and publish high-quality research
- Teach and assess students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Engage in departmental leadership, outreach, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Contribute to the Centre for the Archaeology of Human Origins
