Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD in Archaeology
  • Specialization in Northwestern Europe, preferably Roman period
  • Proven teaching skills with positive evaluations
  • Willingness to obtain Dutch Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO)
  • Experience in thesis supervision
  • Strong command of Dutch and English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous university-level teaching experience
  • Administrative and committee involvement experience
  • Interest in collaborative and multidisciplinary education

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and co-teach undergraduate courses in archaeology
  • Supervise BA theses
  • Contribute to course development and curriculum refinement
  • Attend team meetings and serve on academic committees
  • Perform administrative and managerial duties (10% of role)
