Leiden University invites applications for a Lecturer position in Anthropology of Media and Visual Ethnography at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in Anthropology
Expertise in Visual and Multimodal Anthropology
Experience in film-making and hands-on ethnographic teaching
Knowledge of Anthropology of Media
Promising publication record (peer-reviewed articles, monographs, or films)

Preferred Qualifications:

International research experience
Experience with interdisciplinary and digital ethnographic methods
Ability to obtain Dutch University Teaching Qualification (BKO) if not already held

Key Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses including Expanded Ethnography, Mediated Anthropology, and Visual Ethnography
Supervise B.Sc. and M.Sc. theses
Conduct research in Multimodal Anthropology and Visual and Sonic Ethnography
Contribute to interdisciplinary and international collaborations
