Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

A doctoral degree (PhD) obtained before the MSCA deadline
No more than 8 years of research experience post-PhD
Must not have resided or carried out main activity in the UK for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to 10 September 2025

Preferred Qualifications:

A strong academic publication record
Previous experience with international or European research funding
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively on research projects

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with a Heriot-Watt supervisor to co-develop a high-quality MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship proposal
Conduct cutting-edge, independent research aligned with the host department’s goals
Participate in knowledge exchange and international collaboration
Engage in professional development, training, and dissemination activities
Ensure timely submission of the full proposal to the MSCA funding body
