About Position/Job
Wessex Archaeology is inviting applications for a Marine Geoarchaeologist at Senior or Principal level to join its Commercial Services Directorate in the United Kingdom. This permanent, full-time role is based in Amesbury, with options for hybrid working and consideration of other UK offices. The position focuses on marine geoarchaeology and palaeolandscape research, supporting offshore renewable energy and nationally significant infrastructure projects in UK and international waters.
The role plays a key part in interpreting Quaternary sedimentary sequences, understanding marine and terrestrial depositional environments, and analysing how environmental change shaped past human behaviour. Working closely with specialists in Marine Services, Geoarchaeology, and Post-Excavation & Specialist Services, the post contributes to interdisciplinary research, applied heritage management, and client-led projects.
